Scripture Union

East Claremont has had a long and meaningful relationship with Scripture Union (SU). Our present Youth Pastor (Nick Thomson) was on their SUMMIT program and many of our teenage and young adult leaders cut their ministry teeth on SU holiday clubs and camp. We heartily endorse their bible reading notes and Children's Church material.
Little Angles
Phillip and Pat van Rensberg are a generous and compassionate couple. Little Angels (unofficially started) when they opened their home to 6HIV positive babies in 1997. Since then their ministry has expanded to include day care centres, soup kitchens, feeding schemes and a home for the aged and physically challenged. Some of these projects are close by, in the southern suburbs of the Cape Town, but most of the outreach projects are further afield – along the West Coast of the Western Cape and one on the Garden Route.
Mission Aviation Fellowship
Our church struck up a relationship with Mark and Loraine Luprini while their son (Dave) was attending our youth group (in 2000). Since then we have kept in contact with Mark and his family. Mark is a pilot with Mission Aviation Fellowship and he is regularly using his wings to support and extend gospel ministry in Africa.
Passion for Japan
In 1979 Dale and Maude Viljoen left South Africa to serve as missionaries in Japan with Overseas Missionary Fellowship. In the year before leaving Dale had filled the pulpit at ECCC. Since then we have supported Dale's ministry with prayer and finances. In 2007 Maude when to be with our Lord and Dale married his second wife, Karen. Karen has served in Japan since 1992. Together they bring Christ's love to this modern society.
